Description Charles Ross is a fabulous, large fruited, dual-purpose variety – superb eaten fresh (sweet and not unlike Cox in flavour, but also an excellent cooking apple, keeping its shape well when cooked. A mid-season variety, usually picked around mid-September, and one that keeps fairly well.
