Description You are bidding on an EXCELLENT example of an original WW1 U.S. Army Frankford Arsenal .30-03 Springfield cartridge dated May 1907! The .30-03 cartridge was the original chambering adopted for the Model 1903 Springfield rifle before the transition to the .30-06 spitzer configuration. Early Frankford Arsenal production rounds such as this represent the formative period of modern U.S. military small arms ammunition development. Frankford Arsenal (FA) served as the primary U.S. government ammunition manufacturer during the early 20th century. Dated headstamps from the 1903–1907 period are highly collectible as they document the transitional era between the .30-03 round nose cartridge and the later .30-06 design. Complete and well-preserved examples with early dates are increasingly difficult to locate in strong condition. Made of brass, this round is in VERY NICE condition! A completely LIVE factory loaded cartridge with an unstruck primer, it appears factory sealed and untouched with no signs of pulling or tampering. The projectile is the correct 220 grain round nose configuration and remains solidly seated with a visible cannelure. The brass case is clean with sharp, fully readable “FA 5 07” headstamp markings. There are no cracks, splits, corrosion, dark spotting, extractor marks, or damage noted. Overall length measures approximately 3 inches. Condition is EXCELLENT.  Sold as collectible ammunition only due to age. All federal and applicable state regulations apply.
