Titanium, ‘Metal of the Gods’, is incredibly strong yet very light.  Its strength means it is notoriously hard to work yet makes it possible to create the finest pieces of jewellery. Named after the Titans in Greek Mythology, Titanium or Ti was discovered in Cornwall by Rev. William Gregor in 1791.
